Alisson Becker – 7 –  There weren’t many saves in this game. But overall, it is considered to be doing well when under pressure from the opponent’s offensive line. The two goals conceded were too difficult to do much about.

Joe Gomez – 7 –  Deployed as a left-back but has some opportunities to switch sides. Today, his role with the team is quite large and he has helped in the defensive game beautifully many times.

Virgil van Dijk – 7 –  Had some nice touches, but today he seemed to have trouble dealing with the speed of the visiting team’s attack.

Ibrahima Konate – 7 –  paired well with Van Dijk, making some nice tackles, but also had a tough time dealing with Newcastle’s counter-attacks.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6 –  Shot against the post in the first half. But after that there was a hard test in the defensive game. Contributed to the loss of goals from ineffective tackles.

Wataru Endo – 7 –  Helped the team in pressing high upfield. There were some nice moments of catching the ball before being substituted in the second half.
